Pierre Walcott, Executive Director The Creative Edge Studio “The Creative Edge Studio of Prince George’s was founded on the big idea that filmmakers, like other artists, are perhaps the most valuable cultural resource of 21st century because they remind us of our obligations to self and to each other. As a community advocate for local filmmakers, we have built a strategic partnership with the Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council (PGAHC) and Hyattsville Community Development Corporation (HCDC) to cultivate a film and digital media industry in the Gateway Arts District and across the county. We believe that the proposed film office is a necessary component in supporting our local filmmakers and in attracting film and TV production to the county.”
Here's a film snippet from a colleague of the Creative Edge Studio, "LAST NIGHT is a romance drama starring Judi Blair, Danny Gavigan, Benton Greene and Nedra McClyde. Sky’s (Judi Blair) last night in Washington DC before moving to North Carolina with her boyfriend (Benton Greene) becomes a whirlwind of emotions when a chance meeting with an attractive stranger (Danny Gavigan) tests her will."
Co-Directed by O.F. Makarah, a world-renowned filmmaker and artist who conceived and directs the Heritage Film Festival in Bowie, Maryland (now entering its tenth year) and Matt White, a filmmaker and film/video archivist who conceived and is also now working on The Beatles Live! movie with The Beatles and Ron Howard, the Memory Project is part media archeology and part Big Event.
